How it all got started (a Zumba® story)
Many times, great ideas happen by accident and fortunately for Zumba creator, Alberto “Beto” Perez, had the happiest accident of his life back in the 90’s. Perez, a Colombian dancer and choreographer was running late for his aerobics class and forgot his music, so he decided to improvise using a mix from the tapes he had in his backpack. His music consisted of the salsa and merengue music he grew up with, and he spontaneously developed a new kind of dance fitness. He focused on letting the music move you and his class loved it! From that day, the revolutionary fitness concept was born!
